This place is a realm that is beyond things like character, behavior, understanding, personality, and attachments to physical objects, and people.
The yogis wanted to find a way (a path) to reach a possible realm that was beyond everything. All the physical constructs can be seen as spiritual in nature. Mediation can be part of your self-love practice.
We are connected to a realm where every breathing life is considered one.
With perception and no barriers separating them, a realm where one could truly say that all are equal. They wanted to reach a higher universal consciousness. This is how the practice of yoga was devised. Meditation can help you in your dating life too.

Yoga is a Sanskrit word that means “union”, it signifies the union of the body, mind, and soul.
This knowledge was written down in sacred scriptures of India, it is called the Rig Veda. The authentic knowledge of yoga is what leads numerous yoga enthusiasts from all over the world to attend Yoga teacher training in India.
While practicing a yoga session one encounters the following process:
- Asanas (this is when you will work on your physical bodies with breathwork. You start by calming yourself and preparing yourself for the physical training where you chant a few mantras to gather focus. This is your preparation.)
- Restoration (this is when you compose yourself from the physical training and allow your body to rest and stay grounded to retain the stability of the body.)
- Meditation (this is when you get time to train your mental capacities and capabilities. While meditating one will realize that the goal is not to empty your mind and get rid of all your thoughts, rather, to give time to understand your thoughts and to organize them in a way that you make space for more to enter your mind.)
While this process takes its course, you will notice that the breath is a key and common factor in all three steps. Yoga and meditation will also make you feel beautiful from inside out.

Did you know that higher Buddhist monks are called Rimpoche?
The monks attain this stature by undergoing a tedious phase of meditation. This is where the monks have to literally abandon all worldly elements surrounding them, and spend 4-5 years in a cave, isolated from humans and MEDITATING ALL THIS WHILE.
We cannot all become Rinpoches, but we can practice by some of the processes that they imply on themselves for the process of self-discovery.
What are 3 types of meditation techniques that help in self-discovery?
1. Vipassana meditation
If you are new to meditation, this is probably the best way to start. Why it is the best because one is guided through the entire course of this meditation. One spends 3-10 days at a stretch in this gradual learning process.
A more advanced meditation technique is called “GNYUNEY”.
Gnyuney is to be attended by every Buddhist at least once in their lifetime. One can choose to sit for a Gnyuney for a period of 4 days, 10 days or a month sometimes if necessary. While attending a Gnyuney which usually happens in a monastery, Rinpoches and lamas in large numbers chant prayers 24*7 while you stay in the quarters meditating.
In the entire day, one is not allowed to talk to a fellow person, they are not allowed to swallow spit, they are not offered food throughout the day, but at night; one is to sleep right on the spot of their meditation at night, and they are not allowed to step out of the premises before the course of the day’s end. And the process is very hard, but there are people of ages 10 – 95+ who come to attend this meditation.
Vipassana is a more-relaxed form of Gnyuney
The Gnyuney meditation technique is devised for people from all backgrounds of life to be able to attend.
It is advisable to attend a Vipassana retreat to practice this meditation first.
How to perform the Gnyuney meditation:
One must learn that the first aspect of this meditation is to gather focus through breathing.
After the focus is well laid on the entire bodily sensations, one is to shift their focus on the object of practice that is unique to each person. This form of meditation opens up awareness in order for you to experience a clear vision of the mind and heightened senses of calm and composure.
2. Zen meditation:
This is a gentler form of meditation that moreover works on gaining consistency in the focus and concentration in a person. This is also one of the most famous forms of meditation that one may find a lot of communities practicing. I would say this is a form of go-to meditation and can be done anywhere.
How to practice zen meditation:
One must be sitting upright with a straight spine. The focus of this meditation is on posture and breath.
This meditation requires you to control and train your breath which is why one may have to count their breaths throughout the course of their meditation.
It helps a person to practice the habit of staying in the moment and hence it may as well be a form of effortless presence meditation.
3. Metta meditation:
This form of meditation is a personal favorite. It focuses on inculcating loving and compassionate thoughts within you. Metta is a Pali word that translates to goodwill, benevolence and kindness. This form of meditation comes from the Tibetan lineages especially the Theravada Buddhists.
How to practice Metta meditation:
One must sit in an upright position and work on generating thoughts, feelings, and emotions of compassion and love.
You are free to let your emotions out in order to gain the emotions of love and compassion one the emotions are generated, one must focus on using these emotions to perceive themselves with it and try to heal themselves of the emotions that feel like baggage to the heart.
Once one is capable of perceiving oneself with the eyes of compassion and loving, they must use the perception to view others around them with the same perception.
In this way, one gains a source of infinite loving and compassion that was dormant within them. This leads them to a happier and fuller life and more perception.
